If you're looking to partake in celebrations for the easily customizable, handheld Mexican meal, you've got plenty of options.
Daily Voice has compiled a list of the best taco spots in North Jersey, with much help from our Instagram followers, and some influence from user-review websites such as Google and Yelp.
Here's what we came up with:
Central Taqueria, South Street in Morristown: An investment banker from Mexico City left his job to pursue his dream of opening a taqueria.
Crazy Tacos, Lawton Avenue in Cliffside Park: An authentic taco spot that aims to transport guests to the streets of Mexico in just one bite.
Gaelos, Somerset Street in Somerset: "We are an American success story of a hard-working family that discovered an opportunity to bring fresh traditional Mexican Food to a community," the website reads.
Jalapeno de Fuego, Marray Street, Elizabeth: The website, only in Spanish, says this is the spot to enjoy "delicious Mexican cuisine."
Los Rancheros Taqueria, Passaic Street in Passaic: 4.9 stars on Google, 53 reviews. Guests say the food is well seasoned with "top-notch sauces."
Mexico Restaurant, Market Street in Passaic: You can't miss this colorful spot that looks as if it's right on a street in Mexico. Authentic, fresh, and bright were all words used to describe Mexico Restaurant by diners.
Prince Taqueria, Anderson Street in Hackensack: This spot is relatively new having opened earlier this year, but is getting positive reviews and even offers Halal options.
Riviera Maya, Route 206 in Branchville: A rustic spot now offering birria tacos.
Taqueria Downtown, Grove Street in Jersey City: Multiple Daily Voice readers recommended Taqueria Downtown, which appears to have a widespread cult following.
